FAQ (Luba & Yuka)

General Product Information

A: The Luba is a robotic lawn mower designed to handle large lawns with precision GPS navigation and customizable mowing zones. The Yuka expands functionality with additional smart lawn care features (such as aeration, dethatching, and sweeping depending on configuration). Both models are wire-free, app-controlled, and designed for different homeowner needs: Luba for consistent mowing, Yuka for multi-task lawn management.
A: Mammotion mowers work best on residential and commercial lawns up to 2.5 acres (depending on the model). They handle open lawns, irregular shapes, and multiple zones. They are not recommended for lawns with excessive debris, standing water, or areas with dense tree cover that blocks GPS.
A: Yes. They use sensors to detect obstacles and automatically stop the blades if lifted or tipped. However, as with any powered mower, children and pets should be supervised and kept away during operation for safety.
A: Light rain is fine, but heavy rain or waterlogged grass is not recommended. Wet grass may clog the blades and reduce cutting quality. The mower and charging dock are weather-resistant but should not be submerged.
A: Mammotion uses RTK GPS technology, accurate within 1–2 inches (3–5 cm). This allows precise mowing patterns without boundary wires.

Setup & Installation

A: Setup involves: 1. Placing the charging station in a flat, open area with good sky visibility. 2. Connecting the station to power. 3. Pairing the mower with the Mammotion app. 4. Using the app to map your lawn, define mowing zones, and set no-go areas. No boundary wires are needed thanks to GPS mapping.
A: No. Unlike traditional robotic mowers, Mammotion models are wire-free. Virtual boundaries are created through the app and GPS mapping.
A: During setup, the app will prompt you to connect via Bluetooth for initial pairing. Once paired, you can connect the mower to your home Wi-Fi for full remote access and software updates.
A: Standard package includes the mower, charging dock, power cable, set of blades, and installation guide. Some models may include accessories like wheel brushes or additional blade sets.
A: Place the dock on flat ground with at least 2–3 meters of clear space in front. It should have strong GPS reception (avoid under trees or against walls). Connect to an outdoor-rated power outlet.
A: Yes. Using the app, you can create multiple mowing zones, set priorities, and define no-go areas (such as flower beds, ponds, or play areas).

Operation & Use

A: You can start, pause, or stop mowing directly on the mower’s control button or via the app.
A: Yes. The app allows you to create custom mowing schedules for different days, times, and zones.
A: Mowing height is adjustable in the app or directly on the mower. Luba offers adjustable cutting heights between ~1.2–4 inches (30–100 mm).
A: Yes. Luba handles slopes up to 75% (37°) depending on the model. Yuka is slightly less steep-capable but works well on moderate inclines.
A: Yes. The mower’s sensors detect obstacles and reroute. You can also set up virtual no-go zones in the app to permanently exclude sensitive areas.
A: Depending on the model, one charge powers 120–180 minutes of mowing, covering up to 1–2 acres.
A: A full recharge takes about 2.5–3.5 hours.

App & Connectivity

A: The Mammotion App (available on iOS and Android).
A: Updates are installed automatically via the app when connected to Wi-Fi. You can also trigger updates manually in the settings.
A: Currently, direct integration is limited, but updates are being developed. For now, all control is through the Mammotion app.
A: If GPS is blocked by trees or structures, the mower may pause or return to base. Ensure good satellite visibility. If Wi-Fi disconnects, Bluetooth can still be used locally.

Maintenance

A: Typically every 2–3 months, depending on lawn size and mowing frequency. Dull blades tear grass and reduce cut quality.
A: Use a soft brush or damp cloth to remove grass clippings. Avoid using a hose or pressure washer directly on electronics.
A: Light rinsing of the wheels is possible, but do not spray directly into vents, electronics, or charging contacts.
A: Store indoors in a dry location. Disconnect and store the charging dock as well. Charge the battery to about 50–70% before long-term storage.

Troubleshooting & Common Issues

A: Ensure the dock is plugged in, power light is on, and charging contacts are clean. Try resetting both dock and mower.
A: Check battery level, error messages in the app, and obstacles in the path. Restart if necessary.
A: Re-map your lawn in the app, check blade sharpness, and confirm mowing height is even.
A: Make sure the dock has clear GPS visibility, is placed on flat ground, and the path to the dock is unobstructed.
A: It usually means poor satellite visibility. Move the mower to an open area or wait until signal improves.
A: Restart the mower and app, ensure you’re near the mower for Bluetooth, and confirm your Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz (not 5 GHz).
A: The app will notify you. Remove the mower from the obstacle and restart. Consider setting a no-go zone if it happens repeatedly.
